Jeannie Pitt
B&Q Foundation Manager
Jeannie manages the daily operations and ensures the smooth running of the Foundation.
With a solid background in fundraising, she has extensive experience working in corporate partnerships and community fundraising at Shelter and Cancer Research UK. It’s this range of experience that make her precisely the right woman for the job.
Jeannie is currently studying for a Post Graduate Certificate in Philanthropy, Grant Making and Social Investment at Bayes Business School.

Siân Howard
B&Q Foundation Fundraising and Engagement Manager
Siân has been with B&Q for nearly eight years, gaining valuable experience across various functions including Commercial, Trade Point, and Property. Throughout her time at the company, she has been consistently inspired by the dedication of both head office (SSO) and store colleagues in their fundraising efforts. This inspiration has sparked a strong passion for fundraising and creating engaging events within the SSO community. Motivated by this enthusiasm, she serves on the board of the Sports and Social team as the Event Coordinator, where she thoroughly enjoys developing and delivering a wide range of activities—from successful bake sales to diverse workshops and festive Christmas events.
Siân joined the B&Q Foundation team in 2025 to drive fundraising and engagement for the Foundation.

Julie Turnbull
B&Q Foundation Accountant
Julie is a chartered accountant and is responsible for the day-to-day financial management and control of the Foundation.
She brings a wealth of financial experience and strong financial management skills gained from working for over 20 years as an Accounts Manager in an accountancy practice. She has worked with a wide range of businesses but most recently has focused on smaller owner managed businesses across multiple sectors.
She is delighted to transfer her skills to ensure the secure financial governance of the Foundation’s finances and regulatory compliance, and to make a meaningful positive difference to local communities.

Paul White
Chair
Paul has been B&Q’s Commercial Director since 2017 and brings over 20 years of experience across B&Q and Kingfisher to his role as Chair of the B&Q Foundation. He joined Kingfisher as a graduate in 1999 and has since built extensive industry expertise through senior leadership roles across Technical, Building and Decorative categories. Paul also held the position of Buying Director for Northern Europe before being appointed to the B&Q Board.
Throughout his career, Paul has led teams through periods of both challenge and transformation, championing collaboration and encouraging creative, customer‑focused solutions. His strong commercial background, combined with his passion for supporting local communities, strengthens the Foundation’s ambition to create better, safer spaces for those who need them most.
Paul is delighted to chair the B&Q Foundation and is dedicated to helping it deliver meaningful, positive change for people and communities across the UK.

Paul Crisp
Trustee
Paul joined B&Q’s board as Retail and Property Director in 2017.
With a wealth of over 30 years’ retail experience in both the field and central teams, Paul has an established track record of leading people to deliver strong results through change.
His passion for people and great causes drives his work for the B&Q Foundation. He’s the perfect person to lead the Fundraising workstream and has led from the front by raising significant sums through completing the Yorkshire 3 peaks challenge.

Alex Hayes
Trustee
Alex is Director of Transforming Funding at NPC, a think-tank and consultancy with a purpose, where he leads their work with funders and philanthropists. Prior to this, Alex was Head of Funding at The National Lottery Community Fund and worked in the Government Grants Management Function at the Cabinet Office. He is also a trustee of Leap Confronting Conflict and a Clore Social Leadership fellow.
Alex is passionate about the aims of the B&Q Foundation and also ensuring that it is the best funder it can be. He works to ensure funders are as effective as possible and brings this experience to his role as trustee.

Stuart King
Trustee (Treasurer)
Stuart is the Financial Controller at B&Q and has worked in the B&Q Finance team for 11 years across various business partnering roles working alongside teams within Retail, Property, Commercial and Marketing.
Stuart has a strong passion for trying to improve people’s lives through their homes and the spaces where they spend their time and firmly believes that “Everyone needs a place to feel at home”. Stuart's finance expertise and background in corporate reporting, risk management and financial controls enables him to support the Foundation in his role as Treasurer, to ensure it has the right governance processes in place to operate effectively and deliver upon its longer term ambitions.

Katherine Paterson
Trustee
Katherine began her career in marketing and sales with MARS – before moving into retail with ASDA where she held both E-commerce and Marketing Director roles, ahead of a brief spell with B&Q in 2010. She then moved to Hobbycraft as their Marketing and Digital Director where she spent 10 years, before an interim position as Chief Marketing Officer with Jollyes, the pet care company.
Her experience spans both large corporate environments as well as smaller, more entrepreneurial businesses backed by private equity. Katherine was appointed to the B&Q board in April 2025 and joined the B&Q Foundation Trustee Board in September 2025. She is pleased to support the Foundation and to use her experience to raise awareness of the difference the Foundation’s grants make and drive fundraising.

Anna Peters
Trustee
Anna is a retail colleague at B&Q. She has worked across multiple departments and stores but is currently on secondment to the Communities Team where she co-ordinates colleague fundraising and volunteer projects.
Before joining B&Q Anna spent 15 years working for not-for-profits which focused on engaging hard to reach young adults, social enterprises, and community cohesion.
Anna is also a Winston Churchill Fellow, funded to research Community TimeBanks in America.
It’s the ambition to improve the places people call “home” that drives her connection to the B&Q Foundation. Whether they are the places where people sleep or whether they are the places people feel most comfortable.

Antony Purnell
Trustee
Antony runs a consultancy specialising in customer led strategy. He supports a wide range of businesses ranging from start-ups to large retailers; operating across multiple sectors, including retail, leisure, B2B and charity.
Before moving into consulting, Antony spent 19 years working for the Kingfisher Group in a variety of roles across Marketing, Finance and Commercial.
Having spent the majority of his career exploring the importance of homes, Antony is strongly aligned to the B&Q Foundation ambition. His strategy, communications and marketing experience make him the ideal trustee to drive the evolution and growth of the Foundation.
